Experiential learning for young audiences through immersive theatre
Single Thread Education is a branch of the company dedicated to creating immersive theatre experiences for young people.
We work closely with school and community partners to create participatory stories especially for the young people who play and learn there, giving them imaginative new ways to engage with their everyday spaces as the heroes of their own stories.
Our partners have investigated meteorites in their school courtyards and have joined secret historical societies dedicated to uncovering forgotten stories. No matter the adventure, the young people we meet are empowered to lead the way!
What We Do:
Immersive theatre experiences in schools and communities, facilitated by actors and supported by installations and props
Drama workshops for schools, a participatory introduction to creating immersive and site-specific theatre
Resources and professional development for educators to support their creative teaching practice
Contribute to the research of the impacts of immersive theatre in Canada.
