Single Thread Theatre, hosts of the annual Performance and XR Conference, has been actively working in extended reality and virtual 3D spaces since the beginning of 2020.

Artistic Director Liam Karry, XR Producer Jake Runeckles, and Events and Operations Manager Justine Katerenchuk will discuss their approach to building immersive environments that are accessible and comfortable to work in.

In this one hour discussion, they will address practices for working with actors, designers, developers, and stage managers within Social VR environments, as well as important considerations for audience engagement, accessibility, and onboarding when creating digital works.

The Associated Designers of Canada (ADC) is providing a comprehensive and wide-ranging program of online workshops and conversations designed for live performance designers to amplify their practice.

Workshops will roll out from November 2022 through March 2023, and are open to everyone, free of charge.
